Halloween Minute to Win It games are perfect for parties because they’re quick, easy to explain, and don’t require a lot of preparation.
Most of these games use inexpensive items you probably already have at home.
You can play individually, divide the kids into teams, or simply see how many challenges everyone can complete in one minute.
Here are 20 Halloween Minute to Win It games to try at your next Halloween party.

Candy Corn Spoon Race
Give each child a spoon and a small pile of candy corn.
The goal is to move as much candy corn as possible from one bowl to another using only the spoon.
Set a one-minute timer and see who can transfer the most.
For younger children, let them hold the spoon in their hand. Older kids can make it more challenging by holding the spoon in their mouth.
Pumpkin Stack
Give each player several small plastic pumpkins, orange cups, or other Halloween-themed items that can be stacked.
Set the timer for one minute.
The goal is to build the tallest stack without knocking it over.
If it falls, they can start again.
Halloween Cup Stack
Use orange, black, or Halloween-themed plastic cups.
Give each player the same number of cups and see how quickly they can build a pyramid and take it back down.
This is a great one for a classroom or large party because you can have several kids compete at once.
Eyeball Spoon Race
Use plastic eyeballs or small lightweight balls and a spoon.
Players race from one spot to another while trying to keep the eyeball balanced on the spoon.
If it falls, they have to pick it up and continue.
For younger kids, skip the racing and have them transfer the eyeballs from one bowl to another.
Mummy Wrap
Divide the kids into teams of two or three.
Give each team a roll of toilet paper and one minute to turn one person into a mummy.
When the timer goes off, see which team created the best mummy.
Just make sure the toilet paper isn’t wrapped around anyone’s face or neck.
Cookie Face
Place a small cookie on each player’s forehead.
Without using their hands, they have to move the cookie from their forehead to their mouth.
It sounds easy.
It isn’t.
This one usually produces plenty of giggles, which makes it especially fun for a Halloween party.
Pumpkin Balloon Keep-Up
Blow up orange balloons and let the kids try to keep them from touching the floor.
Give them one minute to keep their balloon in the air.
For a group game, put everyone in the same space and see how long they can keep all the balloons floating.
Candy Transfer
Place a bowl of Halloween candy on one side of the table and an empty bowl on the other.
Give each player a pair of plastic tongs.
They have one minute to move as much candy as possible into the empty bowl.
The person with the most candy at the end wins.
Halloween Memory Challenge
Place several Halloween objects on a tray.
You might use a small pumpkin, spider, candy, bat, witch hat, fake spiderweb, and Halloween decoration.
Let the kids look at the tray for 30 seconds.
Cover it and remove one item.
Can they figure out what’s missing?
For a one-minute version, see how many missing objects they can identify.
Pumpkin Bowling
Set up several empty plastic bottles or cups like bowling pins.
Decorate them with Halloween faces if you’d like.
Give each child a small pumpkin or soft ball and let them try to knock down as many pins as possible.
Give everyone three attempts or see how many pins they can knock down in one minute.
Spiderweb String Challenge
Give each player a ball of yarn or string.
The goal is to create a pretend spiderweb by wrapping the string around several objects in the room.
Give them one minute to create their web.
This one works particularly well as a team challenge.
Witch Hat Ring Toss
Set up a witch hat or cone and give each player several rings.
Players have one minute to get as many rings as possible onto the hat.
You can make your own rings from paper plates or use inexpensive plastic rings.
Move the throwing line closer for younger children.
Halloween Balloon Pop
Place small Halloween-themed challenges or pictures inside balloons before inflating them.
Kids have one minute to pop as many balloons as possible and complete the challenges.
For younger children, have an adult handle the popping and let the kids complete the challenges.
Candy Corn Transfer
Place candy corn in one bowl and give each player a pair of chopsticks, tweezers, or kid-friendly tongs.
The challenge is to transfer as many pieces as possible into another bowl before the timer runs out.
This one is especially good for older kids who want something a little more difficult.
Ghost Toss
Make simple ghost targets from cups, boxes, or paper plates.
Give kids small beanbags, ping-pong balls, or rolled-up white socks to toss at the targets.
Give them one minute to see how many they can get through the targets.
Halloween Scavenger Dash
Give kids a list of several Halloween objects to find around the room or party area.
When the timer starts, they race to find as many as possible.
You can use things like:
- Something orange
- A pumpkin
- A spider
- Something black
- A bat
- A witch
- A ghost
This also pairs perfectly with a Halloween scavenger hunt.
Pumpkin Ping-Pong Toss
Set up several cups or small containers.
Give each player a handful of ping-pong balls and one minute to try to toss them into the cups.
Give the cups different point values to make the game more competitive.
Halloween Sorting Challenge
Mix together several types of Halloween candy, pom-poms, plastic spiders, or other small objects.
Give each child a pile and several small bowls.
The goal is to sort everything into groups before the timer runs out.
Younger kids can sort by color. Older kids can sort by type, size, or color.
Don’t Eat the Pumpkin!
Place several orange balloons or plastic pumpkins on a table.
Hide one special item among them.
Players have one minute to move the pumpkins around using only one hand while trying to find the special item.
You can change the hidden item each round to keep the game interesting.
Halloween Challenge Relay
Put several quick Halloween challenges together into one relay.
For example:
- Stack three cups.
- Move three pieces of candy.
- Toss a ball into a bucket.
- Balance an eyeball on a spoon.
- Run back and tag the next player.
The team that completes the entire relay first wins.
This is a great way to finish a Halloween party because it gets everyone involved.
How to Play Halloween Minute to Win It Games
You don’t have to make every game complicated.
For most of these challenges, you’ll need:
- A one-minute timer
- A few inexpensive supplies
- A table or open space
- Something to keep score
You can let everyone compete individually, pair kids up, or divide them into teams.
For a larger Halloween party, set up several stations and let the kids rotate through them. That way, everyone stays busy and you don’t have a crowd waiting for one game to finish.
And remember, the goal is fun, not necessarily perfect scores.
